AI Policy
This AI Policy governs customer and user use of AI-enabled functionality in the The Business Cocoon platform. It should be read together with the Privacy Notice, Security page, and Terms of Use.

Effective date and scope
Effective Date: April 30, 2026. This policy applies to all AI-assisted products and features offered by The Business Cocoon, including generated analyses, readiness scoring support, coaching outputs, and workflow drafting assistance.
Definitions
- AI Features means functionalities that use machine learning or generative models to produce, summarize, classify, score, or transform content.
- Input Data means prompts, files, transcripts, questionnaire responses, and other content submitted by or on behalf of a customer.
- AI Output means model-generated content, recommendations, summaries, scores, or other machine-produced results delivered through the services.
Permitted use and customer responsibility
Customers may use AI Features for lawful internal business purposes in connection with decision-support workflows. Customers are responsible for obtaining all rights, permissions, and legal bases required to submit Input Data and for independent review of AI Output before reliance, publication, or implementation.
Prohibited use
- Use of AI Features to infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
- Submission of unlawful content or use of outputs for fraud, deception, harassment, discrimination, or illegal surveillance.
- Automated decisions that create legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without appropriate human review and controls.
- Attempts to reverse engineer, probe, exfiltrate, or otherwise compromise model behavior, service security, or provider safeguards.
Data handling and privacy alignment
The Business Cocoon processes Input Data and AI Output in accordance with its Privacy Notice and applicable agreements. AI-related processing follows the same security and privacy controls applied to the platform generally, including access controls, provider due diligence, and risk-based safeguards.
Model providers and subprocessors
The Business Cocoon may use third-party model and infrastructure providers to deliver AI Features. Such providers are engaged subject to contractual and operational controls appropriate to the sensitivity of processed data and may process data outside Canada as described in the Privacy Notice.
Accuracy, bias, and human oversight
AI Output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a specific context and may reflect bias present in source data or model behavior. Customers must apply human judgment and domain expertise before taking action based on AI Output.
Intellectual property and output rights
As between The Business Cocoon and the customer, rights in customer-submitted Input Data remain with the customer or its licensors. Rights and restrictions applicable to AI Output are governed by the Terms of Use and any applicable written commercial agreement.
Limitation of advice and regulated use
AI Features are provided for planning and decision-support purposes only and do not constitute legal, financial, accounting, tax, cybersecurity certification, medical, or other regulated professional advice.
Enforcement and service protection
The Business Cocoon may monitor usage signals, investigate suspected misuse, and suspend or restrict access to AI Features where reasonably necessary to protect platform integrity, comply with law, or enforce contractual obligations.
Changes to this policy
The Business Cocoon may update this AI Policy from time to time to reflect legal, regulatory, technical, or product changes. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
